Woodside is a small town that, as the name indicates, is in a beautiful forest in San Mateo County. But the peace and quiet is only relative if one considers that its only 20 minutes to Sunnyvale and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. One gets the impression that Woodside is one of these towns where the wealthy live who want to pretend that they are out in the countryside, and actually it is quite hard to distinguish the many different towns and cities in the area from another.
We are staying at Wanda Webbs wonderful house, a little outside from Woodside. Originally a videoconference with Scott Bukatman and the symposium "Recycling the Future" was scheduled, but that was cancelled due to overall lack of time. With that also our possibilty to participate on the FirstFlooRadioShow IV in Linz was going down the pan, so we desperately started looking for a place to upload our sound material for the show - in the end we called Wanda Webb, who immediatly offered us her help - in form of her private ISDN line, waterbed and cat family. Around Woodside all kinds of environments can be found, a lush, nearly rain forest, rolling hills and the Pacific is only a few miles to the west. Too bad we cant roam the area, since our car has broken out the first time. Hopefully we soon find out whats wrong. Luckily we shopped for some basics, such as beer and cigarettes...
