The radio shows were particularly well received and quite a few people
came forward to participate. In one we were talking about the large
Tesla Coil we had as part of the stage set for the shadow play 29 and it
came upon me that electricity at very high voltage was less dangerous
because of the minute current it contained.30 I couldn't communicate
this to Hank, because we were on air, other than to say I was about to
commence the demonstration. "This is what happens when you touch the
secondary of a Tesla coil as was done by Nicola Tesla in front of the
Royal Academy at the turn of the century."

Hank was more shocked than I was about to be and his feelings were
obviously sensed by the audience, some of whom covered their eyes so
they wouldn't see me die as I put my hand on top and asked him to turn
it on. I don't remember much except a tingling sensation and I probably
looked quite sparkly. There was a relieved exhalation of breath from
the direction of the audience when it was turned off that moved my tie,
and we immediately went on to "Back, Back, Back! To a time before
history...," the CAVE MAN section of the show.
