23 As did explaining regularly that we were artists and that radio was our art form and why radio was art. Of course this didn't work at the Canadian/American border where artists were either painters of sculptors. To say "radio artist" meant at least a half an hour in the side room while a guard looked through a book and would come up saying we were "radio broadcasters" and that the cassette tape recorders we had were therefore our tools of the trade and therefore were we planning to on working in the States? Were we going to be recording any sounds in the States? How were we planning on declaring money we made from recordings of sounds we made in the States? Etc. P
